“I am also one of them,” Ahmed said. “I want to engage with my friends, I want to do many activities.”
“That cannot happen now. We have to be very selective about who we are coming in close contact with. You have to selective in terms of the space where you meet.”
Five confirmed COVID-19 patients were added to the Windsor-Essex case count on Thursday, bringing the region’s total since March to 2,613.
Of those five new cases, three were the result of community transmission, one was a close contact of a previously confirmed case, and one remains under investigation.
A total of 76 people in Windsor-Essex have died as a result of COVID-19.
2,442 cases are considered resolved.
There are currently outbreaks at three long-term care facilities or retirement homes in the area.
So far this month, the health unit has advised the public of potential exposure dates at six locations across the region: Sept. 3 and 4 at Kindred Credit Union in Leamington; Sept. 6 at a downtown Windsor restaurant called The Chelsea; Sept. 6, 9, and 10 at a Dougall Avenue restaurant called Spagos, Sept. 8 at Crunch Fitness in LaSalle; Sept. 4 at the Ciociaro Club in Oldcastle; and Sept. 4 at a Shoppers Drug Mart location at 3950 Dougall Ave.
