Harkla is recalling its Children’s Compression Sensory Swings in Canada because the ceiling hook can separate from its mounting plate, posing a risk of injury from a fall, according to a Health Canada recall notice published Oct. 29.
About 5,534 of the swings were sold in Canada between March 2020 and April 2025, and 25,541 in the United States. The notice did not name retailers or provinces.
The recalled swing has a blue fabric seat and a four-hole ceiling hook mounting plate. It is sold under SKUs LS-COMP-1BLU and LS-COMP-1BLU-SW. It was made in China and imported by Base Products LLC, which does business as Harkla, of Boise, Idaho.
As of Oct. 23, the company had received four reports in Canada of the hook separating from the plate, including one injury, the notice said. It did not describe the injury.
Owners should stop using the swing and register with Harkla at harkla.co to receive a free repair kit, the notice said. The kit includes a replacement mounting plate, a safety strap and instructions.
Swings hung from ceilings carry the full weight of a child, so Health Canada advises checking that hooks and mounting hardware are secure before each use.
It is the second consumer product recall Health Canada has published this week that carries an injury or fire risk. The agency also recalled 36,288 DREO space heaters sold in Canada over fire and burn hazards.
