Excessive Speeding Leads To Stunt Driving Charge
On July 23rd, 2022, at 11:06am, police observed a motor vehicle driving southbound on Victoria Road South between Elizabeth Street and York Road in the City of Guelph. The vehicle was observed travelling 112km/h in a 50km/h zone.
A traffic stop was initiated.
A 41 year old Guelph male has been charged with:
-Stunt Driving
-Speeding.
His vehicle was impounded for 14 days, and his driver’s license was suspended for 30 days.
Missing Court Leads To More Charges
On May 10th, 2022, an adult male failed to attend court in regards to numerous charges including:
-Theft Under $5,000 x3
-Mischief Under $5,000
-Disguise With Intent
-Breach Probation
On July 22nd, at 12:40pm, police observed the male walking on Speedvale Avenue West near Woolwich Street in the City of Guelph. The male ran from police but was soon stopped in a nearby residential parking lot and subsequently arrested.
A search incident to arrest revealed numerous articles of clothing that he had just shoplifted from a nearby store, and a glass-break instrument.
A 29 year old Guelph male has been further charged with:
-Fail To Attend Court
-Possession Of Property Obtained By Crime
-Theft Under $5,000
-Possession Of Break-In Instrument
He was transported to the Guelph Police Service station pending a bail hearing on July 23rd.
He was subsequently released and will appear in court on August 16th.
Impaired Driving Arrest
On July 24th, 2022, at 12:02am, an adult male was observed driving a motor vehicle southbound on Gordon Street near Kortright Road in the City of Guelph. The vehicle was observed travelling 30km/h and weaving within its lane.
A traffic stop was initiated, and police spoke with the male. He subsequently failed a roadside breath test on an approved screening device and was arrested at 12:15am.
A 29 year old Guelph male has been charged with:
-Impaired Operation Of A Conveyance
-Operation Of A Conveyance – Blood Alcohol Concentration 80 Plus
His motor vehicle was impounded for seven days and his driver’s license was suspended for 90 days.
Stolen Honda CVR Motorcycle
Some time between 7am and 9:30am on July 24th, 2022, an orange and black 2017 Honda CVR motorcycle was taken from out front of a residence located near the intersection of Willow Road and Silvercreek Parkway North in the City of Guelph.

Driver Charged With Insecure Load
On July 23rd, 2022, at 10:56pm, police initiated a traffic stop with a motor vehicle that appeared to be transporting a mattress and box spring on the roof of the vehicle in an unsafe manner near the intersection of Victoria Road South and College Avenue East in the City of Guelph.
Further investigation revealed a bed sheet draped across the top of the mattress and box spring, with the driver and front passenger holding onto the edges of the sheet to keep everything in place while driving.
A 26 year old Guelph male has been charged under the Highway Traffic Act with Insecure Load.
