There were no new deaths and 16 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Ottawa as of 2 p.m. on Saturday.
The latest release from Ottawa Public Health reports that there have now been a total of 263 deaths and 2,224 confirmed cases in Ottawa since the pandemic began.
As of Saturday, there were 98 active cases and five people remained hospitalized, with one in intensive care.
Meanwhile, there are five current institutional outbreaks in Ottawa — the long-term care homes Carlingview Manor, Madonna Care Community and Extendicare Medex, as well as the retirement homes Jardin Royal and Redwoods.
One staff member has also tested positive at Bairn Croft Residential Services on Mathieu Way in Orléans and an outbreak has been declared there. Bairn Croft provides home settings for at-risk children and adults.
