Edmonton Oilers forward Zack Kassian will have a hearing with the NHL Department of Payer Safety on Monday for roughing Calgary Flames forward Matthew Tkachuk during Saturday’s game in Calgary.
Late in the second period, Kassian took a hard hit from Tkachuk behind Calgary’s net, leading to Kassian grabbing and throwing Tkachuk down to the ice while punching him multiple times. Kassian received a four minute penalty for roughing as well as a 10 minute misconduct.
The 28-year-old Kassian has 13 goals and 15 assists over 44 games this season with the Oilers.
Calgary edged Edmonton 4-3 in the Battle of Alberta.
