Edmonton Oilers winger Kailer Yamamoto was forced to leave Game 2 against the Colorado Avalanche with an upper-body injury.
Yamamoto didn’t join his teammates to start the third period and was ruled out by the team shortly after.
It’s unclear when exactly the injury occurred, but Avalanche captain Gabriel Landeskog did hit Yamamoto hard in open ice mid-way through the first period. Yamamoto stayed in the game after the hit, but his last shift came with just under five minutes to play in the second period.
Yamamoto, 23, set a career-high with 20 goals and 41 points this season. He has two goals and seven points in 14 playoff games.
