The Penguins signed Novak to a three-year, $13.95 million contract extension, carrying an average annual value of $4.65 million, the team announced Friday.
The 29-year-old Novak was set to become an unrestricted free agent after the 2026-27 season.
Novak played all 82 games last season, recording 16 goals and 42 points. He added two assists in six playoff games.
The St. Paul, Minn., native was acquired by the Penguins in March 2025 from the Nashville Predators alongside Luke Schenn for Michael Bunting and a fourth-round pick.
Novak was a third-round pick (85th overall) of the Predators in the 2015 draft.
