Immanuel Quickley’s immediate impact in return from injury was recognized by the NBA on Monday.
The Toronto Raptors point guard was named the Eastern Conference player of the week after helping the Raptors go 4-0 to close out a west-coast road trip.
Quickley missed two games with back spasms before returning at the beginning of the road trip. In four games last week, he averaged 25.2 points. 6.8 rebounds, 6.8 assists and two steals as the Raptors beat the Warriors, Kings, Trail Blazers and Thunder.
The peak of those performances came against the Warriors, when he scored 40 points on just 13 field goals to go along with 10 assists. Against the Thunder on Sunday, he hit a pair of threes to keep the Raptors in the game late.
This is the first time in his six-year career that Quickley has been named player of the week. Luka Doncic of the Los Angeles Lakers took home the award for the Western Conference.
