McKay and his colleague Spencer Duff moved from Avison Young, where McKay, who has 13 years experience in the local market, had spent the past five years as a vice-president and principal of the firm.
Watson previously served 10 years at Colliers International, where he was a vice-president specializing in suburban office leasing.
McKay and Watson have been made managing directors of the Calgary office and serve on its management committee, while Duff is an associate director.
Recent major transactions by Savills’ eight agents include relocating the offices of Userful, a Calgary-based multinational corporation, into a full floor of 26,000 square feet in First Tower on the corner of 4th Avenue and 1st Street, S.E.
True North Mortgage expanded its space into a full floor totalling 14,000 square feet in Bow Valley Square, and Savills helped licensed insolvency trustee Bromwich and Smith expand into an extra floor of 800 Fifth, at 5th Avenue and 8th Street, S.W., doubling its total space to 27,000 square feet.
The Calgary team also extended the lease for Bell Canada of its office in Edmonton.
Senior managing director Hamill has leased space for his Savills team on the 14th floor of Devon Tower on 3rd Avenue S.W. in support of impressive growth. The 6,000 square feet of prime office space gives the company room to add additional staff as the need arises; the first hire of the new year will be another research individual, adding to its hard-working support staff.
