
There’s now a second death related to COVID-19 in Waterloo Region.
That confirmation coming from the Acting Medical Officer of Health, Dr. Hsiu-Li Wang, at a news conference on Wednesday morning.
A man, in his 50s, had a pre-existing medical condition.
He was being treated at St. Mary’s General Hospital in Kitchener.
The region’s first death related to the virus was confirmed on Tuesday afternoon.
A man, who a friend and colleague identified to 570 NEWS as 41-year-old John Tsai, had pre-existing medical conditions.
There are now 117 cases of COVID-19 in Waterloo Region.
