Look all around you and see news about elections that are on, will be coming shortly or are threatened to happen when you least expect them. Premier Ford will call a snap election this week, taking advantage of the “American threat of Tariffs” coming from President Trump. Doug should go down to Washington DC and challenge Trump in a gentlemanly manner to an arm wrestling match, or a full-out fisticuffs. Doug would win hands down and Ontario and Canada’s honour would be uplifted and fulfilled.
Doug is taking advantage of this American threat presenting himself as the one and only who can take the Trumponian threat head-on. “The Three Ladies” who lead the opposition parties, Liberal, NDP and Greens could not get 5 feet in front of Trump. I call Mike Schreiner of the Greens a Lady only because he is a harmless, unworthy leader of a political party that needs true and effective leadership and direction, which he does not offer.
“Do Nothing Bonnie Crombie” has the looks but not the bravado to take on Trump, and the NDP’s Marit Stiles is not made for brawling, just consistent complaining, and her chattering would drive any American negotiator away quickly.
Yes, send Premier Doug Ford down to Washington DC and watch the political chips fly, the challenges made and surely not accepted, as President Trump is a fragile man unable to take on a real man like our Doug Ford. Image the politicians gathering together to cheer on their champion in a battle of wits, or fists. Trump would probably call in the Marines to fight for him, a battalion against our firm and grounded Premier Ford. Wow.
Provincial and Federal Elections are on the horizon, and political parties voting for a leader too. If you like political theater enjoy, otherwise have a little Rye on the rocks and relax.
