To celebrate Woodland Jewellers Ltd.’s 90th anniversary, the Cariboo Memorial Hospital Foundation will present the 2023 raffle ticket draw.
The draw will take place at Sacred Heart Hall on Saturday, Nov. 18, 2023, for the hospital gala’s vintage Christmas.
Designer and goldsmith Geoff Bourdon, who owns Woodland Jewellers with his wife, Kendal, has been designing unique, one-of-a-kind rings and pendants for the hospital raffle since 2009.
In total, they’ve raised $150,000 for the Cariboo Memorial Hospital, with all proceeds going toward the hospital being able to purchase needed equipment.
Woodland Jewellers loves being able to contribute to building the community, said Geoff.
“I believe it’s every business’s responsibility to give back to the community that supports us.”
The exquisite ring is valued at $8,000 and features a centred bezel set with a 0.15-carat flower-cut diamond. It’s surrounded by six 1.84-carat oval Ceylon blue sapphires, followed by six 0.14-carat diamond flower petals and a hand-fabricated ring in platinum.
Geoff was inspired to make a flower-shaped ring to follow the flower-cut diamond, Kendal said.
Tickets are available for purchase at Woodland Jewellers at 150 Oliver Street, Tuesday through Saturday, from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
