Memorial Day touches our hearts
our cousins south of us in all their grace
celebrating their brave and dashing
men and women warriors of the
past, present and future wars.
We too have our protectors
volunteers one and all in a land
from coast to coast
with flags a waving and a cheer.
Americans and Canadians once
fought each other in wars past,
are now true allies and friends.
That peace may reign in our lands.
We lift our caps and say a prayer
for the brave soldier protectors in mind.
And we hope that a day will be upon us all
where not one of our neighbours will die
be maimed or suffer by the lions of war.
Peace, Peace is all we ask,
for and a life lived well for all.
A tear may drop, and our hearts may hurt,
but the knowledge that these Soldiers are with us
Strengthens us all.
