Two of the leading causes of death among Americans are heart disease and strokes. According to 2020 data from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, heart disease was the leading cause of death at almost 700,000 reported deaths, and stroke was the fifth leading cause of death, with more than 160,000.
