Russell Wilson is transitioning to a career in broadcasting but is avoiding saying that he has retired.
The veteran quarterback posted a video on social media on Wednesday with the message “thank you, football.” In the video, he thanks his family, teammates and coaches for supporting him during his career but doesn’t say that he has retired
The video also confirmed that Wilson will be joining CBS Sports next season. The Associated Press had previously reported that he will be replacing Matt Ryan on “The NFL Today” panel.
Wilson spent 14 years in the NFL, including 10 seasons with the Seattle Seahawks. He led the Seahawks to a Super Bowl win in 2013. He has passed for 46,966 yards, 353 touchdowns and 114 interceptions during his career, which also included stops in Denver, Pittsburgh and with the New York Giants.
