Redpath Sugar Ltd. has recalled 20-kilogram bags of Redpath Medium Sugar sold in Ontario and Quebec because pieces of metal were found in the product, the Canadian Food Inspection Agency said.
The recall, dated Oct. 8, 2026, was posted on the Government of Canada’s Recalls and Safety Alerts site on Oct. 9. The agency classed it as a Class 2 recall.
The affected product is Redpath brand Medium Sugar in 20-kilogram packages, with the UPC 00062847030053 and the code R6275. The notice said it was distributed to hotels, restaurants and institutions in Ontario and Quebec, not sold in smaller retail bags.
The agency said people should not use, sell, serve or distribute the recalled sugar. The notice did not mention any reported injuries.
Anyone with questions can contact the CFIA at 1-613-773-2342 or [email protected]. The recall number is RA-82762.
Food businesses that bought Redpath sugar in bulk should check their stock for the UPC and code before using it.
