Transport Canada has posted a recall of RAM ProMaster vans from the 2022 to 2026 model years because water can corrode the electric power steering wiring and cause a sudden loss of steering assist.
The recall, number 2026465, was filed by FCA Canada and is listed on the Government of Canada’s Recalls and Safety Alerts site. It was first published on Sept. 29, 2026, and last updated on Oct. 9. The notice does not say how many vehicles in Canada are affected.
On certain vehicles, water can get into the electric power steering system and corrode the wiring harness. Transport Canada said losing power steering assist can make the steering suddenly harder to turn, especially at low speeds, which raises the risk of a crash.
Dealers will inspect affected vans and, if needed, replace the electric power steering wiring harness and the steering gear. The notice does not say whether the repair is free, though recalls are normally done at no cost to owners.
Owners will be notified by mail from FCA Canada and should then take the van to a dealership. They can look up their vehicle in Transport Canada’s Motor Vehicle Safety Recalls Database using recall number 2026465. The federal recall identification number is RA-82776.
