Taylor Swift arrived at the sixth annual Academy Museum Gala in Los Angeles on Saturday, where the museum had announced she would perform, according to the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures and entertainment outlets.
Swift’s name drew more than 500 searches in Canada on Saturday night, according to Google Trends, as photos of her arrival in an ice-blue gown with a large crystal bow circulated online.
The museum announced on Oct. 8 that Swift would perform at the fundraiser, Deadline and Billboard reported. The 2026 gala honoured actor Charlize Theron, actor Colman Domingo and filmmaker John Carpenter, according to Billboard.
Tom Ford, Robert Rodriguez, Steven Spielberg and Kate Capshaw co-chaired the evening, and proceeds support the museum’s exhibitions, education programs and public screenings, the museum said. The museum closed to the public for the event and reopens at noon on Sunday.
Swift’s setlist had not been announced. Variety had speculated before the event that she might perform “I Knew It, I Knew You,” her song from Toy Story 5, but that was not confirmed.
The Academy Museum of Motion Pictures, run by the organization behind the Oscars, opened in 2021 in Los Angeles.
Swift’s appearance capped a busy night for music news. Toronto rapper Drake’s HABIBTI leapt from No. 116 to No. 2 on a reissue, and Bruno Mars recently opened a five-night run at BC Place in Vancouver.
