The Toronto Stock Exchange is closed on 10 holidays in 2026 and closes early, at 1 p.m. ET, on Christmas Eve, according to the official 2026 holiday calendar published by TMX Group. Three dates remain this year: the early close on Thursday, Dec. 24, and full closures on Friday, Dec. 25, and Monday, Dec. 28.

The schedule comes from the TSX market holiday calendar on tsx.com, which TMX Group, the operator of the Toronto Stock Exchange and the TSX Venture Exchange, updates each year. As of Oct. 22, 2026, TMX had not yet posted its 2027 holiday list. This page will be updated when it does.

When is the Toronto Stock Exchange closed in 2026?

The TSX and TSX Venture Exchange are closed on these Canadian holidays in 2026, as listed by TMX Group.

Boxing Day falls on Saturday, Dec. 26, this year, so the exchange observes it on Monday, Dec. 28. On Christmas Eve, TMX says the TSX and TSX Venture Exchange close at 1 p.m. ET, while its Alpha, AlphaX and DRK trading venues close at 1:30 p.m.

Is the TSX open on Remembrance Day?

Yes. The Toronto Stock Exchange stays open on U.S. holidays, including U.S. Thanksgiving on Thursday, Nov. 26, 2026. TMX lists five U.S. holidays in 2026 (Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Memorial Day, Juneteenth, July 3 in lieu of Independence Day and U.S. Thanksgiving) as days with special settlement arrangements for securities that trade in U.S. dollars, not as closures. On a regular trading day, continuous trading on the TSX and TSX Venture Exchange runs from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. ET, according to TMX Group’s published trading hours. A pre-open session, when orders can be entered but not executed, runs from 7 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. ET, and an extended session at the last sale price runs from 4:15 p.m. to 5 p.m. ET. In Mountain time, the regular session is 7:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.; in Pacific time, it is 6:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.

When will the 2027 TSX holiday schedule be released?

TMX Group had not published its 2027 holiday calendar on tsx.com as of Oct. 22, 2026. Its holiday page currently shows the 2025 and 2026 schedules. We will add the 2027 dates here once TMX posts them, and we will not list 2027 dates before then.
