December 2026 benefit payment dates: CPP, OAS, CCB, GST

The Canada child benefit pays on Dec. 11, 2026, the Canada Disability Benefit on Dec. 17, and Canada Pension Plan and Old Age Security payments on Dec. 22, according to the Government of Canada’s benefit payment calendar. There is no GST/HST credit payment in December; the next one has not been scheduled yet.

The dates come from Canada.ca’s benefits payment dates calendar, run by Employment and Social Development Canada, and the Canada Revenue Agency’s benefit payment dates page. Both were checked on Oct. 23, 2026.

All of the December payments land before Christmas Day, which falls on a Friday this year. The government says payments are issued on the dates listed but may take a few days to arrive, and that people should wait five to 10 business days before contacting the program about a missing payment. When is the CPP payment in December 2026?

Canada Pension Plan payments arrive on Tuesday, Dec. 22, 2026, according to the federal calendar. That covers the CPP retirement pension as well as disability, children’s and survivor benefits. It is the last CPP payment of the year; the January 2027 date has not been posted yet.

The maximum CPP retirement pension for someone starting at 65 in 2026 is $1,507.65 a month, according to Service Canada’s CPP payment amounts page, though most people receive less. When is the OAS payment in December 2026?

Old Age Security is also paid on Dec. 22. The date covers the OAS pension, the Guaranteed Income Supplement, the Allowance and the Allowance for the Survivor.

For October to December 2026, the maximum OAS pension is $762.50 a month for people 65 to 74 and $838.75 for people 75 and older, according to Service Canada’s OAS payments page. The maximum Guaranteed Income Supplement for a single senior is $1,138.90 a month. OAS is reviewed every quarter, so the next adjustment takes effect in January.

When is the Canada child benefit paid in December 2026?

The Canada child benefit pays on Friday, Dec. 11, 2026, the CRA said. That is earlier in the month than usual; the CCB was paid on the 20th in most other months of 2026, and on Dec. 12 last year. Related provincial and territorial child benefits that the CRA delivers with the CCB are paid on the same day.

The CRA has not yet published CCB dates for 2027. New amounts based on 2025 income took effect with the July 2026 payment and stay in place until June 2027.

Is there a GST/HST credit payment in December 2026?

No. The GST/HST credit, which the federal calendar now lists as the Canada Groceries and Essentials Benefit, is paid four times a year. The 2026 payments went out on Jan. 5, April 2, July 3 and Oct. 5. The calendar does not yet show a January 2027 date. In 2026 the January payment came on Jan. 5, but the government has not confirmed the 2027 date, so treat any specific date you see online as unconfirmed until Canada.ca posts it.

When is the Canada Disability Benefit paid in December?

The Canada Disability Benefit is paid on Thursday, Dec. 17. The benefit is paid on the third Thursday of each month, according to the federal calendar, which lists every 2026 payment from Jan. 15 to Dec. 17.

Which provincial benefits pay in December 2026?

Two provincial programs administered by the CRA pay in December. The Ontario trillium benefit, which combines the Ontario energy and property tax credit, the Northern Ontario energy credit and the Ontario sales tax credit, pays on Dec. 10. The Newfoundland and Labrador disability benefit pays on Dec. 24.

The Alberta child and family benefit is paid quarterly, and its last 2026 payment was Nov. 27. The Advanced Canada workers benefit paid on Jan. 12, July 10 and Oct. 9 in 2026 and has no December payment.

Veterans Affairs Canada’s disability pension pays on Wednesday, Dec. 23, according to the same calendar.

What if my December payment does not arrive?

The government says payments may take a few days to arrive and that posted cheques can take longer than direct deposit. It asks people to wait five to 10 business days before contacting the program.
