Environment Canada has issued yellow fog advisories for Edmonton, Winnipeg, Regina and Saskatoon on Monday morning, a day after Edmonton was under a similar advisory.
The weather agency issued the Edmonton advisory at 4:52 a.m. MT. Regina and Saskatoon were put under advisory at 3:45 a.m. CST, and Winnipeg followed at 7:20 a.m. local time. Environment Canada rates all four as moderate in severity.
The agency says people in or near the affected areas should watch for adverse weather conditions and take necessary safety precautions. Fog can reduce visibility quickly on city streets and highways, so drivers are advised to slow down, use low-beam headlights and leave extra space between vehicles.
Calgary, Vancouver, Toronto, Ottawa, Montreal, Halifax and the other major cities Environment Canada lists had no alerts in effect Monday morning.
Current alerts and forecasts for each city are posted on the Environment Canada website.
Edmonton had its own fog advisory on Sunday, which we covered in Fog advisory for Edmonton, St. Albert and Sherwood Park. Last week we reported on freezing rain and rain across the Prairies.
