The City of Ottawa has reported an additional positive test result for COVID-19 for a staff member at the Peter D. Clark Long-Term Care Home.
That brings the total number of positive results for staff at the facility to 24, matching the number of cases for residents there. The latest report, involving a staffer in the Bungalows unit, leaves six active staff cases of the virus along with one for a resident, according to a memo from Donna Gray, the city’s general manager of community and social services.

“The clinical team continues to monitor the condition of all affected residents,” Gray’s memo added. “The affected employees are currently in isolation at home.”
There has been one fatality from COVID-19 among staff at the Clark facility, along with seven for residents. Cases involving 17 staff and 16 residents are considered resolved.
Peter D. Clark, one of four such facilities operated by the city, is among seven long-term care homes in Ottawa with continuing outbreaks of COVID-19, according Saturday’s update from Ottawa Public Health. Another 14 LTC homes are among 48 institutions that have “closed” outbreaks, the public health agency added.
