Best Buy’s three-day sale on OLED TVs, headphones, and more ends Saturday – The Verge

Published

 on

Saturday is your last chance to get in on Best Buy’s multi-day sale, but don’t worry if you miss out. Black Friday is a few weeks away, and this year, retailers are offering very good sale prices almost every day. Wherever those deals come from, we’ll be putting them in deal posts for you to check out. What follows are the best deals that have made the rounds on The Verge earlier this week, as well as some new inclusions we think you’ll enjoy.

Sony’s WH-1000XM4 wireless noise-canceling headphones come recommended if you want a comfy over-ear model with excellent sound quality and long-lasting battery life. Normally $350, they’re down to $278. This matches the lowest price yet.

There are some big discounts happening on LG and Vizio OLED TVs at Best Buy. Their design and feature set vary slightly, but with both you’ll get great picture quality and rich contrast. They’re still very expensive compared to LED TVs, but it’s a good investment if you watch a lot of movies and play games. Both TVs have HDMI 2.1, so they can display compatible PS5 and Xbox Series X games at 4K resolution and up to a 120Hz refresh rate.

Samsung 70-inch 4K TV

If having a bigger TV is more important than the kinds of features it has, Samsung’s 70-inch 4K TV is just $530 at Best Buy through Saturday.

Amazon discounted most of its Echo and Fire TV devices earlier this week, and those deals are still going strong. You should definitely expect most of these to remain somewhat constant throughout the holiday shopping season. But if you want to shop early, here are the standout deals from its sale.

The Apple Store Black Friday deals have been unveiled, but here's where to find better prices on Apple gear – CNET

Published

 on

The Apple Store’s Black Friday deals are here, and they aren’t much.

This story is part of Holiday Gift Guide 2020, CNET’s gift picks with expert advice, reviews and recommendations for the latest tech gifts for you and your family.

Apple has revealed its Black Friday weekend deals, which run from Friday, Nov. 27, through Cyber Monday, Nov. 30. As in years past, though, there’s a catch: The new sale offers little in the way of discounts on iPhones, iPads, Macs or accessories like Apple TVs, AirPods and HomePods. Instead, depending on the product you can get up to a $150 Apple Store gift card.

The exact value of the gift card will vary but in order to get the full $150 gift card you’d need to buy either an Intel-equipped MacBook Pro 16-inch or 21.5-inch iMac. Other Macs, including the new 13-inch MacBook Pro that features Apple’s M1 chip, are not eligible. Neither are the new MacBook Air, Mac Mini, larger 27-inch iMac or iMac Pro

If you can still find a 13-inch Intel-equipped MacBook Air or Intel-equipped 13-inch MacBook Pro with two Thunderbolt ports you could get a $50 Apple Store gift card. As Apple discontinued both models, you’d have to find one of these in a physical Apple Store.

Beyond the Macs, most new Apple gear is not eligible for the gift card promotion. You could get a $50 gift card with the iPhone 11, XR or SE (so, not the new iPhone 12 line). Gift cards for iPads are limited to $50 for the iPad Mini or $100 for either size of the iPad Pro with no offers available for the new iPad or iPad Air.

Apple is also not offering double Apple Card cash back, which it did last year. This year the cashback rate appears to be staying at its regular 3%.

The promotions are yet another reminder that the best Apple deals are almost always found outside Apple’s own physical or virtual store. At the Apple Store, for instance, a new set of AirPods ($159) or AirPods Pro ($249) can get you a $25 Apple Store gift card but no discount off the regular price. Woot, by contrast, has already cut the $250 price of AirPods Pro down to $190 right now, and Walmart will offer them for $169 starting on Wednesday, Nov. 25. Standard AirPods are currently $119 at Amazon, and have dipped as low as $99 at online retailers in recent weeks. That’s a savings of $59 to $80 on the Pro model and up to $40 on the standard AirPods — both much more than a $25 gift card that can only be redeemed later.

All the major US carriers have promotions running for the latest iPhones while Amazon has been running deals on Apple Watches (including the latest Series 6), iPads (regular, new Air and Pros) and the Intel MacBook Air (currently $100 off at Amazon, but that’s up from $150 off earlier this week).

Apple also doesn’t make the full list of which products get which discount easily accessible on its promo page, but if you’re interested in the full list you can find it here

The best deals appear to be on the full-size HomePod, which gets you a $100 gift card, and the Apple TV 4K, which gets youa $50 gift card. Neither product has seen the same level of discounting at other stores this season, though the HomePod has previously dipped to $200 at Best Buy.

All told, unless you want one of those two devices or to buy something directly from Apple, you’re likely better off shopping elsewhere for deals on Apple products.

Epic Black Friday TV deal: This 75-inch 4K Roku is crazy cheap right now – Tom's Guide

Published

 on

Bigger TVs usually come with much bigger price tags, which is why this Black Friday deal is one you should not miss. Right now you can get a 75-inch Roku TV for less than $600 at Walmart – that’s $400 off the regular price.

Walmart is selling a Hisense 75-inch 4K Roku TV for $598, an astonishingly low price for a 4K smart TV of this size. It’s one of the best Black Friday TV deals we’ve seen yet.

Hisense 75″ Roku Smart TV was $998, now $598 @ Walmart
This 75-inch 4K TV is a great Black Friday TV deal for those looking to go big. It has Roku’s interface built in, and you can use Alexa to control the TV. Add in HDR support and DTS Studio Sound and you have a great value. View Deal

Note that while this Hisense Walmart page says that the regular price is $698, the MSRP is really $999. So you’re saving $400.

Walmart’s Black Friday TV deal is for the 2019 Hisense 75-inch TV (model 75R6E1), so it’s a little bit older, and we suspect Walmart is trying to clear out inventory. (There’s a newer model, the 75R6E3, which came out this year).

But that doesn’t mean the 75R6E1 doesn’t have its positives, and at less than $600, it looks to be a good model for those on a budget who want a massive set. For starters, it has Roku built in, which we consider to be one of the best streaming devices around.

The Hisense set has a modest three HDMI ports and just one USB port, but it also has dual-band Wi-Fi as well as an Ethernet port. It also has an antenna port if you want to attach one of the best TV antennas for over-the-air broadcasts.

Be sure to check out all of the Best Black Friday TV deals from all the major brands, especially if you’re looking for a different size.

There’s finally a better Black Friday TV deal than the LG CX OLED – TechRadar

Published

 on

You heard us. There’s an incredible TV deal running right now at Best Buy that puts recent discounts on the LG CX OLED to shame – and it’s on the Sony A8 OLED TV.

The 65-inch Sony A8 OLED is now retailing for $1,799, after a whopping $1,000 discount at Best Buy. It’s now the same price as the 55-inch model’s RRP, and is an exceptionally good buy if you’re in the market for a new OLED TV that’s a bit larger than the standard flagship size. (Not in the US? Scroll down for the best OLED TV deals in your region).

We’ve previously raved about the LG CX OLED, which has seen continual price cuts in the run-up to Black Friday, and could still eclipse the competition if it sees more discounts in the coming days. At the moment, though, the 65-inch CX is a bit pricier at $1,899 at Best Buy, with only a $600 discount to the A8’s $1,000.

The 2020 Sony TV range is full of great options for those looking to upgrade their current AV setup.

The A8 OLED, for one, is a new-for-2020 model that offers Sony’s high-end X1 Ultimate processing and gorgeous 4K OLED pictures at a surprisingly affordable price, making for an obvious choice over last year’s A9G OLED.

In our review, we wrote that “By combining Sony’s premium OLED picture performance with a powerful and direct sound system, the Sony A8H/A8 OLED TV manages to be a stunningly compelling TV option for serious home cinema fans.”

Whether you’re after the cheapest OLED you can find, then, or the biggest saving from an original RRP, then, the deals above should have you sorted.
