Social media and Artificial Intelligence I feel are destined to destroy democracies unless stiff laws are passed similar to those that journalists and newspapers must follow.
There are no legal costs related to printing untruths on social media, while new technology allows for words to come from ones lips that are fraudulent.
Totalitarian regimes like China, Russia and North Korea, use social media to discredit democracy, while causing distrust in the spoken word one might view in different news outlets.
Strong laws must be passed by our legislators to protect Canada’s democracy from those wishing to destroy it.
