Kingdom Nails & Spa is the second nail salon in the city to be linked to COVID-19.
Binh’s Nails and Spa on Gardiners Road was shut down late last week after at least 16 positive COVID-19 cases were traced to the establishment, including six employees and three customers and family members or others who came into contact with those customers.
More than 500 people who visited Binh’s between June 12 and 24 are required to get tested and self-isolate for 14 days.
Binh’s provided a written statement to the Whig-Standard on Saturday.
“We apologize sincerely to anyone affected by this terrible situation,” the statement said. “We understand our words will never repair this situation, however we hope you can understand that we are all learning in this new normal of a world and we tried our best to safely operate. With our new knowledge on what we could have done better, we hope that we could be given the (chance to someday) operate again and hope to gain forgiveness from anyone affected.”
In the statement, Binh’s admitted it “could (have) definitely done better” with pre-screening guests upon entry. The statement said the business will be “more strict with all protocols” in the future.
“Please understand that we are just human beings like yourself. We promise to do better.”
