A total of 87,285 tests have been completed to date.
The Ontario government reportrf 1,670 new cases in the province, including 667 in Toronto, 317 in Peel, 125 in York Region and 100 in Halton.
Health Minister Christine Elliott noted on social media that Toronto Public Health reported 125 additional cases that were not fully migrated during the CCM transition, resulting in a slight overestimation in Friday’s case numbers.
Earlier in the week, Elliott said Toronto Public Health had migrated all of its data to the provincial data system, CCM, which impacted Tuesday’s daily count and resulted in an underestimation of cases. She said then that fluctuations in case numbers were expected over the following few days.
The province also reported 2,233 resolved cases Friday, 45 deaths and 62,710 tests completed over the previous day, of which 2.5 per cent were positive.
The rolling seven-day average for new daily cases continued its nearly one-month downward trend and now stands at 1,576.
There are 15,722 active cases in the province, with the number of people in hospital down by 58 to 1,043 and those in intensive care up by two to 325. The number of people on ventilators is down by 16 to 225.
To date, a total of 362,749 vaccine doses have been administered in Ontario, with 7,694 given daily.
A total of 87,831 people are fully vaccinated. Vaccines currently approved for use require two doses administered a few weeks apart.
