Valorant players are left anxious with the “overpowered” Gekko, who’s set to join the ever-growing roster of Agents next act.
The next Valorant agent is just around the corner. Joining the club as the sixth Initiator, Gekko is certainly a unique addition.
Born and raised in Los Angeles, the agent is definitely going to be a breath of fresh air for players — and undoubtedly shake up the meta with the arsenal of creatures at his disposal.
However, ahead of the Agent’s Act 2 release, the community is already concerned with how overpowered the new initiator might be.

Despite not even being released yet, the Valorant community has been quick to voice their thoughts on the new Agent.

Gekko’s abilities are centered around his creatures, which can plant or defuse the spike for him. The Agent is also kitted with a flash, stun, and grenade in his arsenal.

In a March 4 Reddit thread, players discussed what they think of the initiator — where overall many agreed Gekko could be overpowered.
“I think the plant/defuse is going to be to over powered in a 1v1,” one player wrote. “Yeah the defuse seems impossible with multiple people alive and even the plant is tough, but in a 1v1 it’ll be huge,” another agreed.
On the other hand, some suppose that Gekko won’t actually be that overpowered in solo queue in higher elo. “He will probably be weak in higher elo. Seems pretty easy to just shoot his pets,” said one.

“He’s going to be broken in VCT but underwhelming for most players. The spike plant/diffuse ability sounds op and it is, but a lot of people are going to use that as a crutch and get outplayed,” wrote another.
With Riot also claiming that Gekko was the most challenging Agent to design so far, many are excited to get their hands on him when Act 2 drops.

Welcome to the Luddite Revolution

|
There’s a lot of buzz about Artificial Intelligence(A.I.) these days. Some of us want to re-invent the Luddite Cause as well. What’s a Luddite and why re-invent it?
At the turn of the century in England possibly the greatest moment in human endeavors happened during the Industrial Revolution, a time when technology found its place as the new unannounced “God”, replacing rural agriculture with production schedules. The population began to move to the big city for employment in the many manufacturing facilities available at the time. What was normal and customary became outdated and shoved aside. The business people of the time knew nothing about human rights, safety within the workplace, or proper pay for the work done. It seemed to many that the new god of invention and technology was not a savior of humanity, but its oppressor instead. A group of like-minded English and Frenchmen gathered and attacked the premises of this technological miracle. Parts of humanity declared war upon technology, uncontrolled raw capitalism, and society’s evils. These people were known as Luddites.
Today our society faces a new challenge that threatens us in many ways. A.I. generated reality has come to life, replacing the norms of hard work, study, and personal application with A.I. generated Art, Codes to generate essays for students. CHAT GPT offers customers the ability to ask it questions and the computer system will write essays, work reports, studies, poems, and the such. A.I. is being applied to our healthcare systems, transportation, and workplace systems too. Has A.I. become so good at what it does that it can replace humanity?
Imagine going to your local church hoping for a well delivered sermon passionately delivered by loudspeaker and A.I. written and delivered too. You go to your place of business where through a computer, phone calls, and texts you are advised, directed, and managed by A.I. Not a person but a machine program. Fear is spreading among your fellow citizens that through A.I. applications the human experience is missing. Evidence of human emotions, reflections, expressions of hard work, and challenging human experience can disappear in time, replaced by cold efficiency and business terminology.
Has a Luddite been born today? Do you trust those who program and unleash Artificial Intelligence upon us all?
A.I. exists to make a profit for someone else. So if an enterprise can be more profitable, will you or your fellow employees face layoffs and possible replacement? How will this improve the planet’s present situation? High populations with jobs being replaced by A. Intelligence. What will unemployed surplus individuals do with their free time now? When the fishermen of Newfoundland could no longer fish their coasts due to overfishing, over a hundred thousand of them were retrained as computer programmers, with no place to practice their new profession.
When the profit margin is more important than human beings’ self-respect and rights, a situation opens for A.I. insertion. Is A.I. a friend or foe?
“So you say you want a revolution, well you know Sky Net will be with us soon”.

Final Fantasy 16 will take you about 35 hours to beat, 70-80 hours to complete

|
If you’re wondering how long you’ll need to set aside for Final Fantasy 16, a new interview confirmed it will take about 35 hours.
In a new interview with Famitsu, Final Fantasy 16’s director Hiroshi Takai and producer Naoki Yoshida shared their estimated playtime for the next entry in the classic series, setting it at around 35 hours (translations from aitaikimochi, thanks IGN). And for the completionists out there, it sounds like you’ll have around 70-80 hours of gameplay to get through, according to Yoshida himself.
“If you want to master and level up all abilities, gather all accessories, do all the side quests, and fight all the monster hunts, you’re probably looking at about 70~80 hours of gameplay,” said Yoshida. The producer noted that there’s also an incredibly difficult New Game+ mode called the “Final Fantasy Mode,” which lets you carry over all of your stats, adding even more hours to the final count.
Interestingly, Yoshida also shared that when development first started, he “had the idea in mind that gamers these days are really busy with other things, so I wanted them to be able to at least aim to complete the story. I thought making the game something you can complete in about 20 hours would make sense, but more and more just got packed in.”
Plus on top of that, there will be a score board included, meaning there’s another way for you to spend your time racking up points to try and top the leaderboard.
We already knew that Final Fantasy 16 would have around 11 hours of cinematics alone, which means that basically a third of the game will be spent just watching it. Unlike Final Fantasy 15, it won’t be an open world experience, but it won’t be a fully linear game either, making it sound similar to its God of War inspirations.
