Police say they are investigating a shooting in downtown Vancouver that left one person seriously injured on Wednesday night.
The Vancouver Police Department (VPD) said in a statement that officers responded to reports of a shooting near the intersection of Homer Street and West Pender Street around 7:50 p.m. PT.
They say they found a person with serious injuries, who was taken to hospital.
VPD spokesperson Sgt. Steve Addison said around 9 a.m. Wednesday that police were likely to remain in the area for several hours, which may disrupt traffic.
No arrests have been made in the case, and police are asking anyone with information to contact them.
A CBC News reporter who was on the scene saw a large police cordon that extended for several blocks around the site of the shooting.
It comes four days after a brazen shooting on Robson Street Saturday evening, which police say was targeted.
Bystander video of the Robson Street shooting appeared to show suspects taking several shots at a vehicle and then running into an alley.
