CHARLOTTE — A child died and another was hospitalized in Mecklenburg County because of strep infections. according to Channel 9′s partners at the Charlotte Observer.
The Observer learned of the death from the North Carolina Health Department. Neither the county nor the state shared the ages of the children.
Two adults have died this year from strep infections, according to the Observer. There have been 33 cases in the area.
