A Great Canadian with close American Ties
and a friend to Ronald Reagan is no surprise.
Brian was very much Irish, yet came from Quebec,
able to speak the spoken word in English, Irish, or French.
Uniting His country was always the plan,
as Quebecers stood for their rights and demands.
From Newfoundland to the Great West he was in demand,
a leader who did not hide from a fight to unite this land.
When he spoke Canadians listened with fascination,
a fighter from the French quarter of this land.
Who looked us all in the eye with compassion and determination,
and a twinkle of his eye to assure us of what is right.
Brian did not remain silent in retirement as he advised us all,
be diligent, free-spirited Canadians with empathy for all.
A respected man we can all be proud of in history is clear.
Brian Mulroney the politician, family man, and lawyer too,
inspired many to serve this land with heartfelt trust.
The betterment of all others was the central focus of his stance,
as he aged, the bottle of wine he was got better each day.
A salute to a Canadian Trooper, a fighter for what was right.
Brian Mulroney’s life had its fumbles that is true,
but as a man for the times, He spoke softly to most,
communicating to all what Canada needed the most.
