In the 60’s and 70’s, we marched for our rights
Men and women need to be free of racist spite.
The colour of your skin should not matter, my friend,
for we all bleed the same blood from within.
Society changed, just as we did, you see,
perfect we are not, but always trying to be.
The 1st of nations look to the world for change,
transitioningfrom the old society to a modern model of being.
Nationalism sprouts before us everywhere,
and religious pyres burn, uniting God to Man.
Revolution is symbolic of a political change,
but humans will always remain the same.
Iran and the Arab World declared a Spring of Change,
only to be crushed by theocratic religious tyranny.
Now is the time that freedom-loving citizens all should march
in support of a struggle to free women and men alike.
Millions of Iranians risk their lives to speak out,
while throughout the world their supporters march.
In Paris, London and New York as well,
Throughout Canada, the friends of Iranian Freedom march as well.
Young and old citizens see a need for change,
while the aged Ayatollahs of Iran threaten us all just the same,
with persecution, torture and firing squads in Persia’s Name.
Theocracy represents itself, but not the people they rule.
Free Persia and by doing so yourself of fear of oppression and blame,
the Middle East must experience Democracy at least one time,
so let it be in this divine year of 2026, my friends.
Let the People of Iran walk in Freedom just this one time.
Iran has never been a democracy, ruled by Kings and Religious Mullahs,
But its time may have arrived, to change history once again,
So to the People of Iran, let us raise a hand of friendship and solidarity,
For the worlds dominating dictatorships need toppling.
In honour of my friend Reza, his family and the courageous People of Iran
