SHA declares COVID-19 outbreak at Prince Albert hospital Back to video
It’s the second outbreak in an SHA hospital to be declared this week, following a cluster of 13 positive cases at a Lloydminster hospital announced Wednesday.
Staff who were close to the patient are now self-isolating and contact tracing is underway, according to the SHA.
In a release, medical health officer Dr. Khami Chokani said the outbreak was declared because of how long the patient stayed within hospital before the virus was detected.
“The health and safety of our patients and the employees who care for them is of utmost importance to the Saskatchewan Health Authority,” the SHA said in a statement.
