Health Canada says Bayer Inc. has recalled one lot each of Claritin Allergy tablets, Aleve caplets and Flintstones Complete Multivitamins and Minerals from wholesalers after customer-returned products were mistakenly put back into saleable inventory. The department posted all three notices on Oct. 15, 2026, and classed each as a Type III recall.
The recalls are at the wholesale level, according to the Health Canada notices. The notices do not name any provinces or retailers, and they do not say any product has made someone sick.
The affected products are Claritin Allergy tablets in the 10 mg strength, Aleve caplets and Flintstones Complete chewable tablets. The company is Bayer Inc. of Mississauga, Ont.
For Claritin Allergy 10 mg tablets, the recalled lot is NAAF0TW and the Drug Identification Number (DIN) is 00782696. The Health Canada identification number is RA-82783.
For Aleve caplets, the recalled lot is NAAEWF2 and the DIN is 02301733. The Health Canada identification number is RA-82781. The notice’s title lists the strength as 200 mg while its product table lists 220 mg, so check the strength printed on your package against the lot number and DIN.
For Flintstones Complete Multivitamins and Minerals, the recalled lot is NAAEXKW and the Natural Product Number (NPN) is 80093208. The Health Canada identification number is RA-82786.
Health Canada gave the same reason for all three: customer-returned products were inadvertently reintroduced into saleable inventory and distributed to the wholesale level. In plain terms, bottles that had come back from customers were not supposed to be resold but ended up back in the supply chain.
Health Canada uses three recall classes. A Type III recall is the lowest level, used when a product is not expected to cause adverse health consequences. The notices for these products do not describe a specific health risk.
Because the recall is from wholesalers, it is not clear how many bottles, if any, reached store shelves or homes. Health Canada’s notices do not say.
Anyone who has one of these products can look for the lot number on the bottle or box and compare it with the numbers above. If the lot does not match, the recall does not apply to that package. If it matches, Health Canada says to consult a health care provider before stopping use, particularly if you have health concerns, and to contact Bayer Inc. with questions.
Parents who give children chewable vitamins should check the Flintstones lot and NPN together. The same lot-number check applies to the Claritin and Aleve products kept in medicine cabinets, glove boxes and gym bags, where older bottles often sit for months.
Side effects from any health product can be reported to Health Canada through the Canada Vigilance Program, and other safety complaints about health products can be reported to the department directly. A pharmacist can also help confirm a lot number and answer questions about alternatives; see our guide to what your pharmacist can prescribe in each province.
Health Canada has issued several other recalls in recent days, including organic cheeses recalled across Canada over listeria and the Valco Baby Duo stroller. Those involve different products and risks than the wholesale-level medication and vitamin recalls described here.
Health Canada’s full recall database is searchable by product name, and the department also offers email alerts for new recalls.
