Hamilton’s public school board is considering new restrictions to limit what trustees can say to the media and discourage them from taking a public position on an issue before it’s discussed at a board or committee meeting.
Proposed changes to a trustee policy manual would allow trustees to speak to the media on ward-specific issues but ask them to only “share the different considerations they have” and “not share their plan for a vote.”
