Scientists aren’t the only people who get to expand their understanding of the cosmos at the astronomical observatory in the South Okanagan.
Thanks to Star Parties, members of the public are also allowed to wrap their minds around the nature of reality at the Dominion Astrophysical Observatory.
The next one will be about How Galaxies Shape Up. Dr. Max Kurzner will be hosting it.
Kurzner will be focusing on recent discoveries that were made possible thanks to NASA’s Space Webb Space Telescope.
“Even the first galaxies already have so much structure, from dawn of time,” Kurzner said.
Years ago, while in grad school, Kurzner said he could only dream about the clarity that’s possible through the JWST.
“It’s opened a really exciting door for our field.”
How Galaxies Shape Up will be happening on June 24 at 7 p.m. Tickets are available through event bright, and it can be watched on YouTube as well.
