Brandon Police Service Media Release for the Past 24 Hours. 

Forcible Confinement, Assault with Weapon, Utter Threats

A 37 year old Brandon man will appear in court on Sunday morning on charges of Forcible Confinement, Assault with a Weapon and Utter Threats. A woman attended the police service on Saturday evening and complained that her boyfriend had held here against her will at his residence over a period of a week. She was assaulted several times with a weapon during that time. The accused also made threats towards the victim. The accused was located at his residence on Sunday morning and arrested.

Domestic Assault

A 40 year old Brandon man has been charged with Domestic Assault after a complaint was received around 12:30 am on Sunday. A woman reported her partner punched her at their residence in the 2300 block of Brandon Ave. The man left the residence but was located nearby and arrested. He was intoxicated at the time of his arrest and was lodged until sober. He will be released to appear in court in March. 

Impaired Driving

At 10:30 am on Saturday morning, officers responded to a two vehicle collision at 11^th St and Van Horne Ave. A vehicle struck a parked car that was occupied at the time causing extensive damage to both vehicles. The driver of the vehicle showed obvious signs of intoxication and was arrested. He provided breath samples well over the legal limit. The driver, a 25 year old Brandon resident, was held until sober and later released to appear in court in March on charges of Impaired Driving and Drive Over 80 Mg/%. No one was injured in the collision.

Break and Enter

A garage in the 1100 block of 8^th St was broken into overnight on Friday. The owner reported a side door was pried open to gain entry. Several tools, a welder and blue Norco bicycle were stolen.

Other Arrests

One man was lodged for Breach of Peace.

A 42 year old Brandon man was arrested on a warrant for Breaching a release order and Utter threats issued by the Morris RCMP. He will appear in court on Sunday morning.
