Watch Mario's Creator Tour Super Nintendo World At Universal Studios – GameSpot

Published

 on

If you ever wanted to know what it was like going through a warp pipe or traveling through an underground Super Mario video game level, you’ve come to the right place. Nintendo has revealed an all-new look at the upcoming Super Nintendo World theme park expansion at Universal Studios Japan, including a tour of a big portion of the area.

In the video, Shigeru Miyamoto, who created the Super Mario franchise, walks around the land, pointing out the many things visitors will get to do. It all begins with a warp pipe, which you walk through to enter Peach’s Castle, as seen in Mario 64. As Miyamoto explained, the castle music from Mario 64 will also greet you, and the land is filled with a variety of different songs from throughout the Super Mario franchise.

From there, you’re essentially immersed in Mario’s world, which is incredibly animated with spinning coins, wandering monsters, and even snoring piranha plants. There will also be plenty of interactivity, thanks to a wrist band guests can wear, which syncs to their smartphone. With that band, you can collect coins by hitting certain blocks, unlock hidden images and games, and even activate a Pow block to defeat a Koopa Troopa.

Next, Miyamoto showed off a maze made to look like an underground level in one of the games, which included a section with much larger blocks to make you feel as if you shrank and are in need of a mushroom to get back to normal size. Given this is a theme park, there are also gift shop and food options. The restaurant, Kinopio’s Cafe, is run by Chef Toad and features a variety of unique and mushroom-centric dishes.

Then there are the rides. Miyamoto didn’t actually ride any of the attractions, but he did walk through the line queue area for the Mario Kart-themed ride, showing off the various iconic trophies from the Mario Kart games, as well as the one designed specifically for the course the ride takes. The story is simple: Bowser has created a track simply to best Mario. As the plumber’s friends, it’s up to the visitors to race on the track and make sure Bowser doesn’t win. You will get an AR headset to use during the ride, presumably to simulate the hazards. Throwing real bombs and blue shells at your opponents probably isn’t the best idea.

At a glance, Super Nintendo World is incredibly impressive, and that’s before anyone has set foot on the rides. The Mario Kart attraction is one of two that will be available when the land opens, the other is a family-friendly adventure in which guests will ride on Yoshi’s back. You can take a look at everything Miyamoto explored in the land above.

Super Nintendo World will open at Universal Studios Japan on February 4, 2021. The park is also coming to both Universal Studios Hollywood and Universal Studios Orlando in the future.

Cyberpunk 2077 is now the biggest digital game launch of all time – Eurogamer.net

Published

 on

Selling 10.2 million digital copies in December 2020, Cyberpunk 2077 is the biggest digital game launch of all time.

According to a report by industry analyst SuperData, PC games revenue jumped 40 per cent in December 2020, “thanks to the release of Cyberpunk 2077”.

Interestingly, while the sale estimates do include refunds, the “data shows that refunds did not substantially affect the game’s aggregate sales”.

“A successful marketing campaign and the reputation of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt provided the hype necessary for the CD Projekt Red title to break records despite issues including performance problems on consoles, widespread glitches and the indefinite removal of the game from the PlayStation Store,” the report said. “An extremely high share of digital sales (80 per cent) were on PC, likely due to the delisting on PlayStation and overall state of the console versions.

“Regardless of the short-term financial success, the critical backlash means the developer will now have to invest significant resources fixing the game in order to rehabilitate its image before the launch of its next title.”

The report also confirms that Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War boasted the highest earnings on console last month, with Pokemon Go dominating on mobile (thanks, VGC).

The long road to recovery for Cyberpunk 2077 continues with the release of the game’s first major patch.

As we reported yesterday, this update – which brings Cyberpunk 2077 up to version 1.1 – focuses on stability improvements as opposed to quality-of-life, balance or AI reworks. It’s under 10GB on PC, and just under 17GB on console.

The patch improves the game’s memory usage within its various systems (characters, interactions, navigation, in-game videos, foliage, laser effects, minimap, devices, AI, street traffic, environmental damage system, GPU-related, and more), and makes various crash fixes related to loading saves, game opening and closing and the Point of No Return, among other aspects.

CD Projekt recently vowed to defend itself against multiple Cyberpunk 2077 lawsuits.

When will Corpse Husband stream on Twitch? YouTuber looks to new platform – Dexerto

Published

 on

Corpse Husband has found a lot of success on YouTube, but will he ever stream on Twitch? If his recent comments are anything to go by, it sounds like he’s already amassed a strong following on there and is thinking about doing a surprise stream.

Corpse Husband is one of the most successful streamers on YouTube. It happened after his popularity skyrocketed in 2020. However, most fans don’t realize he also has a Twitch channel

It has no content, but he’s still managed to amass more than half a million followers on there. He probably only made it to lock in his name in case he ever switched platforms. However, it raises the question: will he ever stream on it?

He has no reason to switch permanently, at least for the time being. But that could change if he was offered a lucrative contract. Still, he has pondered the idea of doing a surprise stream.

YouTube: Corpse Husband

Corpse Husband is one of the most popular streamers on YouTube.

Corpse mentioned the idea to his fans when he was playing Among Us live on stream. Initially, it sounded like he was all for it. However, he quickly talked himself out of it, or rather, played it down.

“Someday, I will stream on Twitch,” he said. “I checked it recently, and I had like 600,000 followers for some reason. I might go there to… I wanna have like a chilled… no, I could probably do that now.”

It’s impossible to know whether it was anything more than a passing thought. If it ever did come to fruition, though, it would undoubtedly be a smash hit and potentially break records.

In the meantime, it’s become a talking point among fans. Some are all for it, regardless of whether it’s temporary or permanent. Others are less enthusiastic, and feel like YouTube is his rightful home.

Either way, we’ll have to wait and see what happens. A one-off Twitch stream could be an exciting event. It might even be a good way to test the water. But at the same time, if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.

Earlier this month, Vivo released an open beta version of OriginOS for 11 devices. It has now released the list of the second batch of devices that are eligible for the public beta.

The recruitment for the public beta will begin on January 25 according to the official OriginOS Weibo account and will run until January 27. The build will then be pushed to selected users on the 28th of January. Below is the list of devices:

OriginOS open beta 2nd batch

The update should bring not only a new user interface but also bring Android 11 to these devices.

EDITOR’S PICK: Vivo Y20G launched in India with Helio G80, 5,000mAh battery, Android 11, and more

OriginOS is a complete design change from Vivo’s other operating system, Funtouch OS. The homescreen is arranged in a Klotski Grid format and features tiny pop-up widgets called Nano Alerts that display details such as upcoming flights and package delivery status. Nano Alerts not only show up on the homescreen but also on Always-On Display.

The new operating system also has system enhancements that include memory and app optimizations, intelligent app freezing, and application preloading for a smooth and fast experience.

Vivo is yet to announce OrginOS for the international market. Its new phones for the international markets running Android 11 have Funtouch OS 11 pre-installed. If and when OriginOS gets a global realease, it will take a while before it is available as a stable update for eligible devices.
