GODERICH – The Goderich COVID-19, Cold, Flu Care Clinic above Michael’s Pharmacy at 181 Cambria Rd. N. will close at the end of the day Friday, March 31.
In a press release, the Huron Health System announced that care for community members with COVID-19, cold and flu symptoms will transition to family doctors, walk-in clinics and pharmacies.
The press release stated the clinic had conducted 874 clinical assessments and 1,178 visits since May 16, 2022.
“Huron Health System’s efforts in establishing the (clinic) was an effective and efficient method of diverting lower acuity patients away from hospital emergency departments and was a prime example of how health care can be nimble and respond to the rapidly changing health-care needs in our communities,” the press release said.
Huron Health System stated that COVID is still prevalent in the community, and urged those feeling unwell to take precautions to help limit the spread of respiratory ailments. Those experiencing severe COVID symptoms are asked to seek care at the nearest emergency department.
