The Orlando Magic have added much-needed shooting to their roster.
Carter was bought out by the Chicago Bulls after they acquired Dario Saric from the Sacramento Kings in a salary dump ahead of the trade deadline. Chicago later rerouted Saric to the Detroit Pistons as part of a three-team trade for Jaden Ivey and Mike Conley.
An eighth-year veteran, Carter averaged 11 minutes, 5.4 points, 1.1 rebounds and 0.8 assists while shooting 41 per cent on 3.4 threes over 23 games with the Bulls this season.
The Magic are bottom six in three-point makes, attempts and percentage, and Carter stands to give them another option for a shooter off the bench.
