York Region Public Health has reported 11 people who went to a series of wedding events have tested poaitive for COVID-19.
The events took place Aug. 28-29 in Toronto, Markham, and the Town of Whitchurch-Stouffville.
The confirmed cases stem from three events on Aug. 28 — at a private residence in the Town of Whitchurch-Stouffville, at the Rexdale Singh Sabha Religious Centre on 47 Baywood Rd. in Toronto, and at the Lakshmi Narayamandir Temple on Morningview Trail in Toronto — and one the following day at a home in Markham
The health authority is asking all individuals who attended these events to monitor for symptoms related to COVID-19 until Sept. 12.
Those experiencing symptoms are urged to self-isolate and call York Region Public Health at 1-800-361-5653.
