The Pacific Division finally has a champion with one day remaining in the season.
The Vegas Golden Knights secured top spot in the Pacific with a 3-1 win over the Seattle Kraken on Wednesday, winning their division for the sixth time in franchise history. The Golden Knights will play the Utah Mammoth in the first round.
The Oilers enter play with 91 points while the Ducks and Kings each have 90. The Oilers hold the tiebreaker over both teams and will lock up the No. 2 seed in the division with one point against the Vancouver Canucks. However, the Oilers could drop all the way to the second wild-card spot — setting up a meeting with the Colorado Avalanche — with a regulation loss and wins by both the Kings and Ducks.
The Ducks face the Nashville Predators on the road, while the Kings travel to Calgary to play the Flames. All three games can be seen on Sportsnet.
The Stanley Cup Playoffs begin on Saturday.
