The Yankees have agreed to acquire Heliot Ramos from the San Fransico Giants, pending a physical, ESPN’s Jeff Passan reports.
New York is giving up pitching prospect Henry LaLane and infield prospect Kaeden Kent in the transaction, MLB Pipeline, MLB.com’s Mark Feinsand reported.
Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic was first to report the Yankees’ interest in Ramos.
The 26-year-old Ramos broke out for the Giants in 2024, clubbing 22 home runs and hitting for a .792 OPS as he earned all-star honours in his first full MLB season.
But Ramos hasn’t reached the same heights since, logging nine home runs, 31 RBI and a .738 OPS in 66 games this season after missing 37 games earlier in the schedule with a right quad strain.
Now the Yankees will add his bat to their order for the stretch run, and for three additional years, as Ramos isn’t eligible to hit free agency until 2030.
