Former lightweight turned welterweight Gilbert Burns made his biggest career statement to date with a dominant win over ex-champ Tyron Woodley. Burns pitched a shutout on judges’ scorecards, earning two 50-44 scores with the third judge scoring it 50-45. After the action was over, there was no doubt a new contender had emerged while a former champ had fallen further off the path.
