Here are the weekly top-10 rankings for all five levels of high school football in Alberta for the 2025 season. These rankings will come out every Sunday (except for Labour Day kickoff) from now up until Nov. 2. At that time those will be the last rankings and teams will take this rank into provincials.

The 12-a-side teams are slotted into their levels based on their estimated school size by School Sport Alberta while the 9 and 6-a-side are one level only. Some re-sorting of 12-a-side levels will take place after the final official population numbers are recorded at the end of September. Please note that games vs. US opponents, scrimmages, or tournaments are not taken into consideration for ranking or listed in the overall record of the schools.

Upcoming games of the week
5A
#1 Harry Ainlay Titans at #5 Salisbury Sabres
Friday, Sept. 19th, 7:30 p.m., Emerald Hills Sports Pavilion (Sherwood Park), it’s a little early in the year for this game, but Salisbury vs. Harry Ainlay battles have been a must-see event on the football calendar for decades. The defending 5A Provincial Champion Titans are cruising along as usual, having survived a tough exhibition season, while the Sabres have upped their game considerably from what was a disappointing year for them last season.
Many of their games in recent years have been so good they’ve earned nicknames (i.e. Battle in the Blizzard) so don’t get there late if you want a seat at Emerald Hills this Friday.
#3 L.C.I. Rams at #8 Ernest Manning Griffins
Friday, Sept. 19, 7:30 p.m., Stampeder Field at Shouldice Park (Calgary)

Two strong programs meet in non-conference play this Friday in Calgary. Led by the human highlight reel, QB Owen Parker, the L.C.I. Rams haven’t had this high a ranking in decades, with the only blemish on their record being a close loss to #1 Harry Ainlay in the pre-season.
On the other side are the sneaky good Ernest Manning Griffins, who finally righted the ship last week with a win over Bowness after two tough losses to start the season by a total of two combined points. The loss of Team Alberta QB, Harrison Hyndman, to injury has been a big blow to the Griffins but he’s not their only high-calibre player, so the Rams will have their hands full this Friday at Shouldice.
6-a-side
#2 Breton Cougars at #4 Holy Redeemer Rebels
Wednesday, Sept. 15, 4:00 p.m., Holy Redeemer High School (Edson)
An early season battle in the forests of western Alberta, these two teams have been amongst the most consistent contenders at the 6-a-
side level since its inception in the early 2000s. What they are both missing, though, is a provincial championship to their name, and
this week’s game might give us a glimpse into their chances for this year. With defending champion Millwoods Christian moving up a level to 9-a-side its wide open at 6-a-side in 2025.
