Bills’ DJ Moore ruled out vs. Lions with shoulder injury

While things were mostly smooth sailing for the Buffalo Bills offence through the first half of their first game at Highmark Stadium, they did lose a key piece of their receiver corps to injury on Thursday.

As the Bills and Lions returned to the field for the second half, Buffalo ruled wideout DJ Moore out for the remainder of the game with a shoulder injury he suffered with less than three minutes left in the second quarter.

Moore stayed down on the field after trying to catch a pass from Josh Allen in the end zone while Lions defensive back Rock Ya-Sin crashed on top of him.

The veteran ended up walking off the field under his own power but went down the tunnel for an MRI.

Moore didn’t haul in a pass in Thursday’s game before being ruled out.

In Week 1, the 29-year-old totalled 100 yards on five receptions and brought in his first touchdown with the Bills.

He landed in Buffalo this past off-season after being traded by the Chicago Bears — alongside a 2026 fifth-round pick — for a 2026 second-rounder.

The nine-year NFL veteran spent three years with Chicago after beginning his career with the Carolina Panthers.
