DARTMOUTH, N.S. – The westbound lane of Windmill Road between Wyse Road and Lyle Street is closed around the clock until Friday, Oct. 30, the Halifax Regional Municipality said.
The closure began Friday and is needed for significant underground utility connections tied to a nearby development, the municipality said in a news release.
Eastbound traffic is not affected. A marked detour is in place, and residents in the affected area will get local access when possible. Drivers should expect delays and use other routes where they can, the municipality said.
The sidewalk on the north side of Windmill Road is closed. The south-side sidewalk remains open.
Halifax Transit routes and stops may also be affected. The municipality said current transit impacts are posted on halifax.ca.
The municipality is also asking residents for feedback on a draft vision for the Mill Cove area and Bedford Waterfront. An online forum runs Oct. 26 to Nov. 13, with an open house Nov. 4 at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 95 on Bedford Highway. Details are in our earlier story, Halifax seeks views on Mill Cove, Bedford waterfront plan.
