MILAN – AC Milan beat Inter 3-1 in the Milan derby at San Siro on Saturday, scoring three times in the first 43 minutes.
Christian Pulisic opened the scoring in the fourth minute with a header from the centre of the box, set up by a cross from Diego Moreira. Adrien Rabiot made it 2-0 in the 10th minute, hitting a left-footed shot into the bottom right corner after a corner kick that Moreira also helped create.
Inter pulled one back in the 22nd minute. Alessandro Bastoni headed in from very close range following a corner, cutting the deficit to 2-1.
Moreira then put the result beyond doubt before halftime. The winger curled a left-footed free kick into the top right corner in the 43rd minute to make it 3-1. Moreira was involved in all three Milan goals, with two assists and one of his own.
Both sides lined up in a 3-4-2-1 formation, and neither team found another goal after the break. The match was played on Oct. 31 and was streamed on Paramount+ in the United States.
Pulisic, the American forward, had a disappointing World Cup that ended on the bench for the United States. His early header in the derby was a quick answer on the club stage.
Elsewhere in European football on Saturday, Fábio Silva’s late goal earned Borussia Dortmund a 2-2 draw with Bayern Munich, and Morgan Rogers and Cole Palmer gave Chelsea a 2-0 win over Manchester United.
