
B.C. Provincial Health Officer Dr. Bonnie Henry and Health Minister Adrian Dix will provide an update on the COVID-19 pandemic in B.C. at 3 p.m. PT today.
As of Victoria Day Monday, there were 2,444 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the province. So far, 143 people have died and 1,966 people have recovered from the illness.
Phase 2 of the province’s restart plan begins today, and some businesses are allowed to reopen as long as they adhere to specific guidelines.
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau extended the Canada-U.S. border closure on Tuesday morning, and it will now last until June 21. He said both countries agreed to extend the closure to “keep people in both our countries safe.”
