The Government of Canada has issued a recall notice for a line of plant-based frozen meals because they contained an undeclared ingredient.
Certain Alpha brand breakfast and regular burritos and sandwiches which purport to be plant-based were found to contain milk that was not stated on the label.
The Canadian Food Inspection Agency is conducting a food safety investigation, which could in turn lead to more recalls.
What you should do:
- Check to see if you have recalled products
- Do not consume recalled products to which you are allergic or sensitive as they may cause a serious or life-threatening reaction
- Do not serve, use, sell or distribute recalled products
- Recalled products should be thrown out or returned to the location where they were purchased
