Jakub Dobes and the Canadiens agreed to a three-year contract extension with an average annual value of $5,357,575, the team announced Thursday.
The extension will begin in 2027-28 and keep Dobes in Montreal through the 2029-30 season.
Dobes established himself as the Canadiens’ top man between the pipes during the team’s run to the Eastern Conference Final.
He appeared in all of Montreal’s 19 playoff games, posting a 2.66 goals-against average and .908 save percentage while picking up nine playoff wins. His nine post-season wins put him tied for third in team history among rookie netminders.
In the regular season, Dobes helped Montreal return to the playoffs for a second straight season, leading all rookie goaltenders with 29 wins in 43 appearances. He posted a 29-10-4 record with a 2.78 goals-against average and .901 save percentage.
The 25-year-old goalie was named to the 2025-26 NHL All-Rookie Team alongside teammate Ivan Demidov
